To the average Joe, OTOC’s Celebrating Community Event might look like just a fundraiser. For anyone who has attended or helped plan it, we recognize that it is so much more.

Over 300 people gathered last month at the Omaha Design Center to truly celebrate OUR community at the 14th Annual Celebrating Community Event.

Our talented leaders organized a welcoming atmosphere complete with delicious food provided by Pleasure Your Palate, uplifting yet subtle music from The Rivertown String Band, and an extensive variety of unique silent auction items available to the highest bidder.

While the setting, food, music and auction were the right ingredients for a successful fundraiser, it was the camaraderie filling the space between folks that was most fulfilling. The event singularly brings together so many people who have formed OTOC’s past and introduces them to those who are building its future. While many people come to OTOC through an issue they care about, most stay because of the relationships they build along the way. The Celebrating Community event is a great visualization of the powerful relationships that have been built over time and provides a great opportunity for reconnection and new optimism.

This year, OTOC leaders organized our most successful fundraiser yet, raising $51,231

We’d like to thank our talented team of leaders that organized this event, as well as our sponsors, donors, and everyone who participated in the auction or in person event. We are so grateful to you, our supporters, who continually contribute your time, money, energy, and talents to this organization. We are honored to have built and sustained this organization for 30 years with you and we look forward to the next 30 years of relationships, building power, and creating change together.
